We believe a disciple is a fully devoted follower of Jesus who simply does two things consistently: Abides & Imitates. We “abide” in Christ as we spend time with Him. When we spend time with Christ, we learn from Him how to become more like Him in our everyday lives (“imitate”).

Practically speaking, you may be wondering, “How does someone grow as an abider and imitator of Christ?” Well, at STJDCC, we believe that there are four big areas of discipleship. We call these the “4H’s”: *Heart *Home *House and *Habits. We believe discipleship is a lifelong journey that grows from the INSIDE-OUT.

Each Sunday in November, we will go into great detail about HOW we are equipping you - and those who will be joining us in the future – to flourish in your discipleship journey in 2025:

Sunday, November 3 – “Growing as a Disciple in our HEART”

• Abiding in Christ through Prayer
• Abiding in Christ by Reading Scripture
• Abiding in Christ by Asking / Meditating
• Imitating Christ through Yielding

Sunday, November 10 - “Growing as Disciples in our HOME”

• Praying together as a Family
• Engaging in God’s Word together as a Family
• Honoring the Sabbath together as a Family
• Practicing Hospitality as a Family

Sunday, November 17 - “Growing as Disciples in God’s HOUSE”

• Gathering in Community together
• Serving the Community together
• Giving to the Community together
• Reaching out from the Community together (up, back, inside, outside)

Sunday, November 24 – “Growing as a Disciple in our HABITS”

• Forming Habits of Financial Health (FPU)
• Forming Habits of Physical Health
• Forming Habits of Workplace Health
• Forming Habits of Emotional and Relational Health (Marriage, Parenting,
• Friendships, Grief Care, Divorce Care classes)

Then, at the end of this series, we will ask everyone to begin praying about financial investing in one or more of the 4H discipleship areas during our upcoming Storehouse Season. Our STJDCC Storehouse Season kicks off Sunday, December 1st, and runs through Tuesday, December 31st.

Now is a great time to begin praying about your year-end giving and doing all that you can to bring your best offering during the Storehouse Season throughout December. Where God guides, He provides! We are always so thankful to serve the Lord with such a generous church.
