Ephesians : Walking in Your Authority in Christ

Walking in Your Authority in Christ through

the Book of Ephesians

We are super excited about our next full Book of the Bible Series this April! Starting Sunday, April 19, we’ll journey verse-by-verse through the Book of Ephesians together as a church family.

This powerful letter from the Apostle Paul reveals the awesome authority we have in Christ—based on His supreme position and the secure, victorious position He has given each one of us.

Join us every Sunday morning at 10am at St. Johns Discipleship Community Church (www.stjohnsdcc.org) and on Wednesday nights in our Connect Groups as we explore what it means to live daily in the authority of Jesus:

  • Standing firm in His victory
  • Walking worthy of our calling
  • Equipping ourselves for overcoming the spiritual battles we all face

Whether you’re new to faith or a longtime believer, this series will challenge and encourage you to experience the abundant life that flows from knowing who you are in Christ.

Series Overview & Schedule

Sunday, April 19 – “Discovering the Authority of Christ’s Position.” We’ll uncover the reason WHY believers have authority in Christ and how this letter reminds us of Christ’s supremacy and our secure inheritance in Him. Connect Groups start this week (Wednesday nights, 4/22-5/20 at 6:30pm at Maple St. Biscuit Co. on Race Track Rd.)

Key Verse: Ephesians 1:21(WEBU) – (Christ is) “…far above all rule, authority, power, dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come.”

Sunday, April 26 – “Discovering the Authority of the Believer’s Position.” We’ll walk through Ephesians 3:20 to discover every spiritual blessing we have in Christ: chosen, redeemed, adopted, sealed, and seated with Him in heavenly places.

Key Verse: Ephesians 3:20 (WEBU) “Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us…”

Sunday, May 3 – “The Practices of Believers in Christ” We’ll journey through Ephesians 4 to show how Paul revealed that based on what we now know from Chapters 1-3, information leads to transformation. We will look at how God calls us to “walk worthy” -putting off the old self and putting on the new, speaking truth in love, and giving no opportunity to the enemy. We’ll learn practical ways to build up the body of Christ in love.

Key Verse Ephesians 4:24 (WEBU) “…and put on the new man, that like God has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.”

Sunday, May 3 – “The Authority of the Believer in Christ” The series culminates in Ephesians 5:1–6:24 with practical authority in everyday life: marriages, families, workplaces, and spiritual warfare. We’ll put on the full armor of God and learn to stand firm in the victory Christ has already won!

Key Verse: Ephesians 6:10 (WEBU): “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.”

30-Day Challenge: Read the Entire Book of Ephesians Together! Download our free 30-Day Ephesians Scripture Journey reading plan (based on the brand-new “Authority in Christ” devotional journal I’ve prepared—see the attached preview or pick up a copy at church). Save it to your phone, print it, or follow along daily.

Each day includes a short verse-by-verse Scripture reading, reflection questions, prayer prompts, and journaling space using the simple P.R.A.Y. Method (Pray, Read, Ask, Yield). Commit to just 10–15 minutes a day, and watch how God’s Word transforms the way you walk in Christ’s authority over the next month! Start today—let your heart be softened like good soil to receive the powerful seed of truth.

If you’ve never surrendered your life to Jesus, today is the perfect day. Pray something like this:

“Jesus – I come to You today as a sinner who needs salvation. I repent of my sins and I believe that You died for my sins. I ask You for forgiveness. I confess You as my Lord and I believe in my heart God raised You from the dead. I surrender my life to You completely. Thank You for loving me, forgiving me, and giving me eternal life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Welcome to the family! Next steps include water baptism, daily devotion, and joining our community for fellowship and growth. Send us a note at [email protected] to let us know!

We can’t wait to see you Sunday at 10am or Wednesday nights at 6:30pm at our Connect Groups. Let’s become everyday disciples of Jesus together—walking in the authority of Christ, standing firm in His victory, and inviting others to experience the abundant life He has secured for us.

See you soon at St. Johns Discipleship Community Church!
